Hey loves!
Spring has finally arrived, and you know what that means—it's spring cleaning season! There's just something about opening the windows, letting in that fresh air, and giving your home a total reset that feels so good. Over the years, I’ve developed a spring cleaning routine that not only helps me keep things tidy, but also makes me feel more calm, focused, and productive. And the best part? I’m sharing my entire method with you—plus a free printable spring cleaning checklist to help you stay on track!
Let’s get into it!
Why Spring Cleaning Matters
We all know the physical benefits of a clean space, but did you know it’s also amazing for your mental health? Clutter can increase anxiety and reduce focus. When your space is clean, your mind feels clearer too. Think of it as a form of self-care—a way to refresh not just your home, but your entire vibe.
My Spring Cleaning Method: The 4-Phase System
I like to keep things simple and effective. My spring cleaning routine is broken into four easy phases:
Phase 1: Declutter Room by Room
Start by walking through your space and getting rid of anything you no longer use or love.
Use 3 bins or bags: Keep, Donate, and Toss.
Be ruthless—if you haven’t used it in a year, you probably don’t need it.
Focus on one room at a time so you don’t get overwhelmed.
Phase 2: Deep Clean Everything
Once you’ve decluttered, it’s time to deep clean:
Wipe down baseboards, light switches, and door handles
Clean windows and mirrors
Dust shelves, vents, and ceiling fans
Vacuum and mop floors
Tip: Play your favorite playlist or podcast while you clean—it makes everything more fun!
Phase 3: Organize & Refresh
This is where the magic happens:
Use bins, baskets, and drawer dividers to keep things tidy
Label items for easy access
Add a touch of freshness with new candles, plants, or pillow covers
Phase 4: Maintain Your Clean Space
To make your hard work last:
Set a 10-minute daily tidy-up routine
Do weekly mini-cleans for each space
Stick to the “one in, one out” rule for new items
My Favorite Spring Cleaning Tips
✅ Start with the space that stresses you out most—it’ll feel SO good to see it clean. ✅ Use natural, non-toxic cleaners (vinegar and baking soda are magical!) ✅ Don’t forget to clean your phone, remotes, and other frequently touched items. ✅ Involve the whole family—turn it into a weekend project with snacks and music! ✅ Celebrate when you’re done. A clean space deserves a cozy night in with your favorite show or a bubble bath.
